31 chestie besties!!
THANK YOU!!! we have 31 cbs. 31 of our friends and family are going to be walking together to help put an end to breast cancer. amazing!!
melissa and i have a team meeting this week so i am sure we will have plenty of information to pass along.
in the mean time, i have a tip that has brought in some $$$$. add a link to your donation page in the footer of your email. it's a constant, subtle reminder to those who have not donated or signed up to walk. if you are using your work email, be sure to check with your employer first regarding their policy.
ladies, check your boobs.
more soon from a VERY proud chestie bestie.

Chestie Besties are on FIRE!
Thank you to everyone who has joined so far! We are so excited to have you on the Chestie Besties. I have to say that Highland Village/Flower Mound/Lantana is representin'! Where are you Denton Besties??? We are a quarter of the way there on our member goal! Let's keep it up!!!
I just wanted to brag that my kids, Jack & Emma updated their personal profiles on the Komen-Dallas site so go check out those incredibly adorable children!
Thank you, Elise, for organizing the team and for pushing us all to meet new goals and become involved!
We should have golf tournament information up soon and I heard a rumor that Jaret & Erik might be holding an acoustic show to raise funds...Bowling for Boobies! (Coined by Bestie Raychel!)
Happy trails!
cheers - m

fundraising tip: change!
there is no doubt that the economy, price of gas and groceries have affected our wallets. you have heard it before but every little bit REALLY does make a difference.
a great way to make some money is to collect change. ask your favorite stores if you can put up a jar to collect change. you will be surprised how many places are willing to allow you to put up a collection jar and how many people will throw in their change.
be sure to let people know what you are raising money for with decorations and other eye-catching items.
good luck!

p.s. we have 24 chestie besties!! you can check our numbers here: http://www.komen-dallas.org/site/TR?pg=teamlist&fr_id=1030

information regarding matching gifts
hey cbs
some of you are already fundraising and hitting up your companies for matching funds. love it!
here's what you need to do:
1. get the form required for matching gifts from your employer.
2. fill it out
3. send it to the race for the cure office and they will verify the funds were received.
hope this helps! let us know if you have any questions.
keep up the good work.
thanks,
e

A new goal to celebrate 15 years of friendship.
I still strap on my utility pack for 3 mile walks because you never know when you might need some body glide or chapstick. I miss talking and laughing with my friends at mile 15. I cannot stand the thought of hearing about someone else who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
So now what? I am going to get my bestie, Mo, to walk with me again. Then we are going to form the biggest Chestie Besties Team, ever! Okay, let’s talk logistics. Last year, 12 amazing ladies walked with us for 60 miles. I realize that does not sound like fun to most of you. How are about a 5K? Yes, you can walk. Yes, you can bring your husbands, kids, parents, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Come walk with us Saturday, October 18th, 2008 in the 25th anniversary of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, in Dallas Texas.
Here is our goal:
100 Chestie Besties,
each raising $200,
walking 3.2 miles,
Will you help us end breast cancer? Here’s what you can do:
WALK-Join our team and get your friends and family to join.
DONATE-If you cannot walk with us, donate to help end breast cancer. You can donate to the Chestie Besties or individual team members. You can find a list of all the Chestie Besties at http://www.komen-dallas.
Join us to honor all those who have been touched by this senseless disease. You will be glad you did.
Keep up with our progress by checking back on our blog. You can email us at chestie.besties@gmail.com.Here we go!
Thanks,
E
