A new goal to celebrate 15 years of friendship.

I still strap on my utility pack for 3 mile walks because you never know when you might need some body glide or chapstick. I miss talking and laughing with my friends at mile 15. I cannot stand the thought of hearing about someone else who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I want everyone to know what it feels like to see and cheer for breast cancer survivors as they cross the finish line. It is a life moment that everyone should experience. It affects us all differently but no one can deny the power of those kinds of moments.

So now what? I am going to get my bestie, Mo, to walk with me again. Then we are going to form the biggest Chestie Besties Team, ever! Okay, let’s talk logistics. Last year, 12 amazing ladies walked with us for 60 miles. I realize that does not sound like fun to most of you. How are about a 5K? Yes, you can walk. Yes, you can bring your husbands, kids, parents, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Come walk with us Saturday, October 18th, 2008 in the 25th anniversary of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, in Dallas Texas.

Here is our goal:

100 Chestie Besties,
each raising
$200,
walking
3.2 miles,

Will you help us end breast cancer? Here’s what you can do:

WALK-Join our team and get your friends and family to join.

DONATE-If you cannot walk with us, donate to help end breast cancer. You can donate to the Chestie Besties or individual team members. You can find a list of all the Chestie Besties at http://www.komen-dallas.

Join us to honor all those who have been touched by this senseless disease. You will be glad you did.

Keep up with our progress by checking back on our blog. You can email us at chestie.besties@gmail.com.

Here we go!

Thanks,

E
